Odd Places I’ve Found Money This Year

I’ve found a grand total of $1,955.04+ doing these things(and it was fast!)

Money is even harder to come by these days, and the “normal” ways of making it just don’t seem to work like they used to. Without further ado, here’s my raw, unfiltered story of how I managed to find $1,955.04 — almost two grand — all within a few months.

Before you shred that pesky stack of mail… Open it first

I can tell I’m getting wiser with age. Back in the day, when junk mail and other stuff I didn’t care about piled up, I’d just throw it all away. My space would be clear, but I had no idea I might also be throwing away money.

Somewhere between old insurance paperwork and random mailers, I opened an envelope I had planned to toss. Inside was a $1,499 check from a loan provider I had never even heard of. (Yes, it was legit. Yes, we needed it!)

A couple of months later, buried in a stack of medical claim paperwork, I found another envelope — this one had $400 in insurance refunds.
